You are in charge of how you feel. You can feel happiness regardless of outside circumstances.⠀
Nothing needs to change externally in order for you to feel amazing.⠀
⠀
Every feeling you experience is mainly because of a thought you had. How you decide to think about something determines how you will feel about it. ⠀
⠀
• If you want to feel excited - think exciting thoughts.⠀
⠀
• If you want to feel love - think loving thoughts. ⠀
⠀
• If you want to feel grateful - give thanks.⠀
⠀
On the subject of gratitude, it is argued that giving thanks is the highest form of thought, and we know now that thinking and acting in gratitude, positively affects our brain chemistry. The language and actions of gratitude, makes room for love and, in so doing, we experience daily work as a joy, our fears are transmuted into acceptance, our resentments into compassion. And so on. In this spirit, Cicero, a brilliant orator, a philosopher and a leading political figure in the era of Julius Caesar, wrote: “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.”⠀
⠀
You are 100% responsible for how you think, and therefore how you feel. ⠀
Everyday, take a moment to set your intentions for the day. ⠀
This will affect how you think and, therefore, how you feel.⠀
⠀
You are in charge.⠀

Dear Linda you are spot-on on this. I’m a High Performance Mental trainer and the first lesson to my clients is make them create the habit, just when they wake-up, to think about the faces of the people they are going to encounter through the day, and imagine them smiling and hugging you. What you imagine deeply, is experienced by your unconcious mind just exactly as if you were really living it. That changes your day, and at the end, can change your life. Regards from Mexico.
